Farm to Table Interim Project
It’s official. I have kicked off my long-planned legislative interim project. As I contemplate potential Farm to Table legislation, I have decided that I need to conduct personal research to determine how best to advocate food policy of the future.
How can I access safe nutrious local food products – no matter where I live? What is the effect on local economies and the environment by buying local? What is the effect on me and my family’s health? How does this dissect with the philosophy of cooking locally grown foods and communing well - espoused by Thomas Keller, reknowned restauranteur and cookbook author?
This summer/fall I am documenting my research as I am also having fun.
First up, my kickoff Farm to Table Dinner #1 this Saturday – a small salon gathering to experience my first Thomas Keller-inspired cuisine obtained almost exclusively from local markets.
